camogli - SAN FRUTTUOSO BAY

THE CITY OF THOUSAND WHITE SAILING SHIPS

Camogli is a romantic and lovely Ligurian town located in the province of Genoa. It is also called La Città dei Mille Bianchi Velieri (the City of Thousand White Sailing Ships) or La Gemma del Golfo Paradiso (Gulf Paradiso’s Gem).It seems a typical small fishermen's village with an ancient small harbour, but it is also a remarkable sea resort renowned for its beaches and the multicoloured buildings on the waterfront. San Fruttuoso Abbey. It is tucked away in a tiny, pristine bay between Camogli and Portofino surrounded by lush vegetation . To add to its exclusiveness, you can only reach it by sea or on foot, hiking the nearby nature trails of the National park of Portofino. Another reason San Fruttuoso is often visited is for the famous Christ of the Abyss underwater sculpture. The dive is not difficult as it takes place in relatively shallow waters but is an experience to remember earning this diving spot worldwide fame.
