The Historic Centre of Genoa is one of the most extended european's old town area. The Genoese Historic Centre is a maze of alleys (caruggi) that unexpectedly end up in small squares, churches, food markets, buildings belonged to important noble families.
 
 
 
 
ROLLI PALACES
 
During the extraordinary period of the Renaissance and the Baroque, the Genoese aristocracy entrusted many artists with projects and built of a series of prestigious palaces in Strada Nuova. The UNESCO sites includes 42 Palazzi dei Rolli , and can be found in Strada Nuova and in a large part of the Historic Centre, in Via Lomellini, Piazza Fossatello and Via San Luca, up to Piazza Banchi and the seaside.

 
 
 
 
THE ACQUARIUS OF GENOVA
 
The Aquarium of Genoa is the largest exhibition of aquatic biodiversity in Europe, with 71 big tanks housing over 15,000 animals belonging to 400 species, against the incomparable backdrop of the Gulf of Genoa. The exhibition space offer visitors the chance to take a trip through the seas of the world in order to admire dolphins, sharks, penguins, manatees and Antarctic animals.
